How it all began
Sleeprate was established in 2006 by Dr. Anda Baharav an MD, researcher and sleep expert. Dr. Baharav spent years researching the connection between heartrate, sleep and stress at Tel
Aviv University. She discovered that changes in the heartbeat directly correlate with various sleep stages during the night. Dr. Baharav decided to take this discovery and turn it into a service.
This is how Sleeprate was born.



Making sleep solutions accessible to everyone
Sleeprate was initially designed as an alternative to sleep clinics. Its founders wanted to make a sleep-solution that is easy as a pregnancy test, with the goal of bringing a first-class solution to as many people as possible.


Pioneering the Use of Wearables for Sleep Monitoring
Sleeprate was working with wearables a long time before it entered the world-wide mainstream market, and even before the technology was available.
As early as 2011, Sleeprate was using pulse chest belts for tracking sleep patterns. Today, Sleeprate has a BYOD approach (bring your own wearable).
It can connect to any compatible heart rate wearable device, such as Garmin and more.

Our patented solution links heartbeats and brain activity to provide accurate and validated
sleep measurement and assessment. The core technology utilizes behavioral sleep medicine (CBTi)
practices developed and implemented at Stanford University’s Behavioral Sleep Division.
Based on these practices, together with Dr. Baharav’s in-depth knowledge and experience, and the
input of countless experts and medical advisers, Sleeprate’s unique solution for better
sleep-life balance was developed. Put simply, Sleeprate is a custom-tailored, step-by-step
